What’s Happening at UUCOM

At UUCOM we have a number of recurring events and groups.
See What’s Happening every month at UUCOM on our calendar or in the monthly UUMidland newsletter.

Tree of Life

The modern Pagan movement provides a means for people to connect with the daily, monthly, and yearly cycles that continue to affect us physically and emotionally. Through classes and rituals, the Tree of Life Open Circle explores this connection in an ongoing effort to foster growth and community for kindred spirits of the earth.

As with all our rituals and classes, all are welcome. Everyone is encouraged to participate, but you may simply observe as well. Blessed Be.

For updates and further information about Tree of Life, please check out their Facebook page here  or in the monthly UUMidland newsletter.

Stitching Circle

Stitching Circle (previously called the “Knitting Group”): We want to thank everyone who participated in our charity stitch along last year.  Together, we made 149 knit & crochet squares donated to Warm Up America!  That is enough to make 3 adult blankets, 4 child blankets OR 7 baby blankets!!  This year, our group has decided to make hats, scarves, or mittens for our local homeless. Join us at our next Stitching Circle to knit, crochet, embroider or sew on March 18th at 2:30pm.  We welcome beginners! Email Franny for more information: starrymoon@gmail.com.

Yoga Class

A new weekly yoga class with Kendra Pennington will be held on Saturdays at 9 am.

Kendra Pennington is the founder of: Kotelo Yoga and received her RYS 200-Hr in the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series with Iyengar Alignment technique from Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre in Cork City, Ireland. She is working towards her prenatal yoga certification starting in 2018. She wants to relate to people in a very raw and candid way through a traditional stance on yoga. She states,” I want to change the perspective of the Western version of yoga from, “middle class women” or “Insta worthy poses” to, this is a healthy lifestyle choice, anyone and everyone who wants to can benefit from it.”  She believes that “modern day yoga” is yoga that fits our lifestyle, it is relatable but you are gaining health, mentally, physically and spiritually.
